Designer Handbags for Fashion

Monday, February 14th, 2011

Having a designer handbag in possession boosts the social status for many people. Often times people just imagine having one. Most women consider themselves lucky because others simply do not like their used designer handbags. These handbags are then sold for lower prices. Though you can’t afford brand new handbags, you can still make a dream of having a designer handbag come true.

It’s ok to buy secondhand handbags. This is one convenient way of achieving that goal of having a designer handbag. Though money plays a big factor to the purchase of these handbags, they can still be very affordable. Even you’re on a strict budget, the dream of owning a designer handbag is not impossible.

Secondhand designer handbags should not be taken lightly. Almost all secondhand designer handbags maintain such quality. Some may even look surprisingly brand new. These kinds are the ones not used much by the previous owner. Trendsetters are usually the ones who own these kinds. Trendsetters buy merchandise as soon as they are displayed for sale on the market. The catch is when new designer handbags are displayed, they replace their old ones by selling them and buying the new ones. So the quality of the bag is more likely to be in good shape when you buy them.

These handbags are usually sold by consignment shops, those who return products they didn’t sell. One advantage is that you are personally able to see the bags for yourself. For further inspection, these bags may be checked if they are in good shape or not, tighten the strap, open the zipper a few times, make sure they don’t wobble or appear to fall or break off anytime. This is one way of finding out if the bag is genuine or fake. Go check out the nearest consignment stores to see what they have in your interest. Never hesitate to ask if there is a particular type of handbag you’re looking for. More or less, people find it difficult to find a handbag that suits their taste, because they usually come less in stock. Other stores may also be offering the type handbag you are looking for, so a little shop-hopping pays off.

Many used handbags are also available in online stores. eBay.com is one of them, they have many bags up in auction. But be sure to be meticulous before making the purchase, many imitations, which are poor in quality are out there, especially on known brands. Check some small traces that gives clues to whether or not the handbag is fake or real. If pictures aren’t convincing you enough, you can ask for more. This is an easier way of shopping for secondhand designer handbags.

Looking fashionable does not always take a lot of cash. Many people out there sell their used handbags at very affordable prices, and these handbags are still quality ones. You just have to shop-wise. Begin your collection now and show them you are fashionable!

Designer Handbags and your Money’s Worth

    Sunday, February 13th, 2011

Yes, I know there is such contrast, because handbags don’t come cheap not even reasonable at times. But yes, you can get you money’s worth if you shop wise and look hard enough. I have been fond of handbags for years. I was headed into my middle age (late 40’s) and I was still single, so I had no one to hold me back and to stop me from spending most of my savings collecting designer handbags. But, buying designer handbags can be quite a costly hobby too. If I wanted to pursue my expensive passion I had to learn how to shop wise, and take opportunities of discounts and bargains on designer handbags.

By price reduced designers I mean, Ferragamo, Prada, Balenciaga and more. Looking out for end-season sales offered by high fashion stores online is the best way to find good bargains and deals. I got my Zac Posen, Fendi and Tod discounted for up to half the price by doing this. Designs from Dior, Versace, Derek Lamb and Mark Jacobs can also be found. These designers are very high peaked ones. Sometimes I usually get discounts on designer handbags by buying handbags from the less-popular designers.

Just because you didn’t get your handbag for thousands of dollars doesn’t mean you didn’t get a high class handbag. I’ve begun collecting “celebrity handbags”. These are those types that Hollywood celebrities use and are very stylish, but with some little changes. These changes are that the best design properties from the original handbag are taken by the producers and are made into a new handbag. This means that you’ve still got the best qualities from the pricy original design but bought by a fraction of the price of the original handbag, think of it as a little derivation, a new, expensive looking style.

In terms of popularity celebrity bags are the quickest rising type out there on the market nowadays. Although price isn’t the only factor, it’s surely the biggest one. Quality faux leather and less often genuine leather are used by manufacturers of these high-class handbags. They are also using quality hardware and materials and are more meticulous to details such as stitching and furnishing, meaning these handbags didn’t only cost less for quality, and are very fashionable AND useful, but they look pricy too, they’ll be surprised to know at what price you got it and at what price they thought it cost, and why would you tell them?

So what kind of handbag style are you looking for? Are you into a type of messenger bag or a purse? Are you looking for an evening pouch or perhaps a strapped one? Are you into looking like a local celebrity? Any of these fashionable handbags are surely available in the net. Keep in mind that I look at the high peaked online fashion stores and I double check the outrageous handbags based on celebrity styles. A little patience pays off; a little wise-shopping pays less.
