Handbag Piracy is a NO-NO
Are you carrying the real thing? If you think that you save extra money for buying a cheap Louis Vuitton handbag, think twice. It may be fake, others call it pirated. And yes it’s not just music, softwares and movies that suffer because of piracy. Designer handbags do too. Piracy, as what I’ve read in an online dictionary, is the unauthorized copying, distribution, or use of another’s production.
So why do people settle for an imitation? First, i suppose, it’s because everyone can’t afford the real thing. We have to admit that authentic designer handbags cost a way lot more higher than that of their copycat. A Gucci ‘New Pelham’ Large Shoulder Bag would cost about S 1,500.00 yet a class AAA of the same kind would cost you only about S500.00. So what does AAA mean? Well, it’s not a kind of battery. It’s the new classification of handbags that circulates in the market today. Chinese made imitation handbags are known as class AAA, and a lot of people portray it as authentic.
The lack of authentic handbags in the area is one reason too why some women settle for an imitation. In some countries, where there is excessive tariff tax to imported products, pirated products like those of handbags with a very good quality are mistaken to be the real thing. In some African countries and poor Asian countries, buyers would just settle for what they think is the mcCoy not knowing that it was just a product of piracy. We have to admit that the focus of the distribution of this Coach, Hobo and Valentino handbags are the countries in Europe and North America.
But unlike the music, movies and software, piracy of apparel tends to have also some great effects. This knockoff acts as gateway handbags. Women who buy a fake Yves Saint Laurent Rive Gauche Tote on their tight budget might be more inclined to buy the authentic as their income increases. In China, counterfeiting of handbags is rampant. In one article in a newspaper, a woman was interviewed and asked if they want to buy a real designer handbag. She fired back “At present I have no money to buy so many genuine Prada (Prada) or Kou Chi (Coach), so I bought counterfeit goods. I hope in the future I can afford to buy genuine, but the Now I want to dress up like a child then the matter.”
The piracy in designer handbag acts also as an advertisement for the authentic ones. If you’re seeing Chloe Purses anywhere in your area, probably you will get one yourself.
And finally those who did buy fakes and notice the poor quality of the handbag that they bought, the next time they would buy, they would now settle with the authentic. Experience will serve them well. They would later realized that the savings they thought they made in purchasing knockoffs is not savings at all.
Its hard to stop piracy especially if some government in other countries almost tolerate this way of living by having a poor counter measures against the manufacturing of imitation handbags. We need to cooperate, by educating the consumer and implementing stricter laws from every country to stop this monster. But the question is – will it ever stop?
They say imitation is the highest form of flattery but this kind of imitation won’t flatter the Authentic Handbag companies at all. This won’t even flatter the users long enough.
